The South Bohemian Travelcon conference, organized by the South Bohemian Tourism Authority, opened the panel \u201cFilmmakers: Wait! Is Netflix coming?\u201d<\/em> to discuss the current topic of regional readiness for foreign film and television productions. The discussion, featuring Pavl\u00edna \u017dipkov\u00e1 (Czech Film Commission) and Ludmila Claussov\u00e1 (DMO \u010cesk\u00fd Krumlov Region), highlighted the growing importance of the audiovisual industry for destination development. <\/p>\n\n

Foreign production as an opportunity and a commitment<\/h2>\n\n

The arrival of a foreign film crew represents a significant economic benefit for the region\u2014from the use of accommodation capacities and services to the involvement of local suppliers. At the same time, however, it places high demands on infrastructure, organization, and coordination. <\/p>\n\n

As mentioned during the panel, a key factor is the destination’s readiness to respond to specific production requirements quickly and with high quality.<\/p>\n\n

The film office as a key partner<\/h2>\n\n

The regional film office plays a vital role in this process. It ensures not only communication between the production and the region, but also: <\/p>\n\n

\u2013 assistance with location scouting\u2013 coordination with public administration\u2013 networking with local partners and suppliers\u2013 support for a smooth filming process<\/p>\n\n

The film office thus acts as an intermediary that helps minimize administrative and logistical barriers and increases the region’s attractiveness for foreign productions.<\/p>\n\n

Economic and marketing impact<\/h2>\n\n

In addition to the direct economic benefit, filming also has a significant marketing effect. Successful films and series can influence a destination’s image in the long term and increase its international visibility\u2014a phenomenon known as film tourism. <\/p>\n\n

The goal is not only to attract productions to the region but also to maximize their presence for the further development of tourism and the strengthening of the South Bohemia brand.<\/p>\n\n
