Nosferatu

About the Film
Ellen Hutter (Lily-Rose Depp) would be a happy newlywed if she weren’t haunted by terrifying nightmares. Her husband Thomas (Nicholas Hoult) must travel for work to wild Eastern Europe to broker a deal with the mysterious Count Orlok (Bill Skarsgård). Who would have thought there was a direct connection between the journey and the dreams, that the Hutters had become pawns in the nobleman’s game aimed at spreading absolute evil across the continent? Despite the incredible hardships Thomas endures from his encounter with Orlok, he eventually manages to return home. But his return doesn’t mean victory. Ellen slowly succumbs to madness as darkness and death spread everywhere. The eccentric Professor Eberhart von Franz (Willem Dafoe), who knows what powerful enemy they face, is the only one standing with the couple. Will it be enough to stop Nosferatu? (CinemArt)
Trivia
In the South Bohemian Region, Nosferatu was filmed for just one single day – however, the filmmakers spent one day beforehand modifying the terrain and another day after filming restoring it to its original state. The sand pit in Tušť is digitally “transformed” in the film to evoke a seashore – with the image of a large ship and open sea added in the background, even though it’s actually an inland sand pit.
