Samhain

Samhain is a Czech mystery crime thriller set in the misty Šumava forests, where the mysterious death of a young woman leads investigator Monika Erbenová to a remote village that lives its own life. The initial assumption of a tragic accident begins to fall apart when another dead body is found with clear signs of foul play. The festival of Samhain is approaching — an ancient Celtic festival of the dead, during which, according to legend, the gate between the worlds of the living and the dead opens — and the investigation reveals whether there is a ritual element behind the events, or just a series of unfortunate coincidences. The film combines a detective plot with atmospheric mystery and mythical elements inspired by Celtic tradition.
