Location Tour 2026: Discover the film locations of Czech Canada with us
In cooperation with the Czech Film Commission, we are organizing a two-day Location Tour of Czech Canada on September 15–16, 2026. We invite active film professionals on a scouting trip to places you might not know yet – from authentic hospital spaces and architecture of the second half of the 20th century to historic towns and chateaus, as well as the unique underground and landscape of Czech Canada.
Two days across Czech Canada
Over the course of two days, we will travel through Czech Canada and present locations in Jindřichův Hradec, Nová Bystřice, Slavonice, Dačice, Český Rudolec, and other places in this tourist area.
We have designed the program to showcase the greatest possible diversity of local film locations. In Jindřichův Hradec, for example, we will visit an authentic hospital complex with retro corridors, a functional laundry, and industrial facilities, an extensive castle and chateau complex, or the historic Old Town Hall with a ceremonial hall designed by architect Jan Kotěra.
The route also includes Nová Bystřice and its surroundings, where we will look at, for example, a vintage car museum or the vast areas of a campsite complex, which can offer possibilities even for specific TV formats.
Another part of the program will offer a completely different atmosphere. We will visit a formerly Pauline monastery with the monumental Baroque Church of the Most Holy Trinity and an underground crypt, historic Slavonice with a chance to look into the underground, the chateau and chateau park in Dačice, or Český Rudolec, where alongside historic buildings we also find architecture from the second half of the 20th century.
Besides towns and buildings, we also want to present the character of Czech Canada itself – the ponds, forests, and landscape that we will be passing through during the Location Tour.
Not just locations, but also regional contacts
The Location Tour is not just a tour of interesting places. It is an opportunity to see locations in person, get a feel for their surroundings, accessibility, and potential for filming, while also getting to know the people who can help during a potential shoot in the region.

Who is the Location Tour for?
The event is intended for active film professionals across all crafts – producers, production managers, directors, cinematographers, location managers, and other professionals who seek out or use film locations in their work.
If the full dates don’t suit you, it is also possible to participate for just one day.
We will provide transport, accommodation, and catering
We want you to be able to focus primarily on the locations themselves, their film potential, and networking during the Location Tour.
Therefore, transport, accommodation, and catering are provided to participants by the South Bohemia Film Office free of charge.
The capacity of the Location Tour is limited and participation is subject to prior registration.
