FOCUS London 2025

In December 2025, we participated in FOCUS London, one of the most important international events of its kind in the field of film offices and the audiovisual industry. The South Bohemia Film Office was presented here as part of a joint national exposition under the Czech Film Commission.

FOCUS London – A Prestigious International Event

FOCUS London is an international trade fair and conference focused exclusively on film offices and the audiovisual industry. It is a unique event that connects film professionals from around the world, including producers, location managers, film offices, agencies, streaming platforms, and service providers. The event is designed as a professional meeting, not as a trade fair for the general public, and its main goal is to create contacts, share experiences, and present regions as suitable locations for filming.

This year’s event attracted more than 160 exhibitors from 50 countries and registered delegates from more than 100 countries around the world, which confirms the importance of FOCUS London as a global platform for the film industry to meet.

South Bohemia as part of the national presentation

The South Bohemia Film Office was part of the joint presentation of the Czech Republic under the Czech Film Commission. On site, we presented South Bohemia together with the regional film office of the Hradec Králové Region. Participation included our own presentation of the region, working meetings with film professionals, networking activities, and participation in a thematic accompanying program.

Networking and professional program

The program also included accompanying networking events that allowed meetings with key players in the film industry. At the beginning of the event, we participated in the EUFCN × LMGI meeting: Tales from Behind the Scenes, which connected film offices and location managers from all over Europe and other parts of the world.

EUFCN, the European Film Commissions Network, is a European network of film offices bringing together more than 100 film commissions from approximately 33 European countries and supporting the exchange of information, professional development, and international cooperation. LMGI, the Location Managers Guild International, is a global professional organization bringing together location managers and location scouting experts.

At the end of the event, we also participated in the AFCI × Amazon MGM Studios networking meeting, which took place at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). This meeting offered an opportunity to informally network with film commissions and representatives of major studios and strengthened the ties of the South Bohemia Film Office to the international network of film professionals.

Why are such events important

Participation in international events such as FOCUS London is key for a regional film office. It is at these meetings that the first contacts are made for projects that often only begin to be implemented after a time lag of several months or years. Direct personal contact makes it easier to present the region, respond to the specific needs of productions, and build long-term relationships based on trust.

For South Bohemia, this means raising awareness of the region as an attractive film location, making contacts that can lead to future filming, and gaining a better overview of current trends and needs of film productions.

What do we take away from FOCUS London

From participating in FOCUS London, we take away new contacts, specific suggestions, and valuable information about what types of projects and locations are currently in demand. We will continue to use these findings when working with regional partners, municipalities, location owners, and service providers in South Bohemia so that the region is as well prepared as possible for potential filming.

“Your support is crucial for us, not only in preparation but also in the execution of our shows. Recently, we collaborated on last year’s fairy tale ‘The Key of St. Peter’ at Zvíkov Castle and this year on the series ‘Protectors’ – filming is taking place in Tábor and the surrounding area.

I must highlight how much you have helped us. We are currently consulting with you on the TV miniseries ‘Rain Stick’ and a Christmas fairy tale for 2025. We believe that with your help, both projects will be visually appealing and successful with audiences. The South Bohemian Film Office has become an indispensable partner for Czech Television. Thanks to your expertise and knowledge of the region, we can utilize unique locations and bring our viewers authentic and visually attractive stories.

Thank you for your flexibility, professionalism, and commitment. We look forward to more successful projects that we will realize together.”
